A world premiere play telling the true-life story of Emmeline Pankhurst, one of the pioneers of the Suffragette movement.

In the early part of the 20th Century, Pankhurst founded a movement to fight for women to have the vote. She advocated direct action, “deeds not words”, rather than peaceful protest to achieve their aims. 

A controversial and important figure, this play tells her story from growing up in Manchester without a vote to running for Parliament in London, with the actions she took, the tactics she used and the effect this had on those around her.

Pankhurst’s story is intertwined with modern-day stories revealing the fight for female equality is still an ongoing battle, and the causes she championed are as relevant today as ever.
