The theatre seats 230, plus 3 spaces for wheelchairs.  Entrance is from the Foyer, with the Empire Bar behind the stage.  Male, Female and Disabled toilets are also down near the bar.

Rows A – F are gently sloped, and G – N a bit steeper.  There is full disabled access throughout the auditorium and bar area although the rear section has steps.

If you book online you can pick your seats on Ticketsource.  If you book via SeeTickets (or another) we usually allocate the best seats as the orders come in.

In evenings, there is ample free parking around the theatre.  Directly opposite the theatre foyer is St Mary’s Pay & Display car park (Peter Street) and if that’s full go further along Devonshire Road to West Street Car Park. There is also a new car park where the Gala Bingo used to be.  All of Chorley Council’s car parks are free after 5pm weekdays, free after 1pm on Saturdays and free all day Sundays and Bank Holidays.  Short stay car parks offer 1 hour free parking or 3 hours for £1.

We have two (sometimes three) ways of booking online for our shows and here’s the info you need to know:

• If you book via TicketSource, you can usually choose your seats.  If you book via SeeTickets we pick the best available when the order came in, for collection on the door. If a show is “general admission” or “unreserved seating” you can pick your seats when you get to the venue on the night.
• If we have to allocate your seats they are usually together, unless your party is really large and it’s just not quite possible.  Also, very last minute bookings may have to be slotted in but we usually try and keep on top of things.
• Wheelchairs can be booked online via TicketSource, but if you have a question please phone or visit Malcolm’s Musicland (01257 264 362). We’re sorry but we are unable to offer free carer tickets.
• Our preferred online seller is TicketSource, who make it simple to buy and are nice, helpful people.  They don’t charge either you or us much for their service either (comparitively) and you can pick your seats in real-time with our box office.
• Some of our shows are sold by Ticketmaster and we do not have control over these sales so you’ll have to go to them with any issues.  We give them an allocation, which means you can get a (limited) choice of seats through them but they do cost a little more.
• We use all these sellers to give you options on how to buy (for instance, maybe you’ve used See Tickets in the past so would prefer to stick with them) and also to make sure our shows reach as many people as possible.
• Unless specified (by Ticketmaster or, sometimes, See Tickets) pre-booked tickets will be waiting on the door for you on the night of the performance rather than being sent out.  You will need to bring your reference number and surname to the box office for collection.
• The start time on a ticket is the actual start time – we don’t wait for latecomers and the doors may be closed
• Reminder that filming, photographing or recording any show is strictly forbidden and anyone caught doing so will be asked to leave without refund.

Please remember we’re all volunteers so sometimes it doesn’t quite go as smoothly as professional theatres but we endeavor to do our best and make your Chorley Theatre experience a great one.

A quick guide to buying tickets!

• Tickets are sold via Malcolm’s Musicland, an independent music retailer in Chorley Town Centre.  You can call him up or pop in the shop – he’s open 9-5, Monday-Saturday.  During the run-up to Christmas he is usually open on Sundays too.  Tickets can also be bought at Ebb & Flo Bookshop on Gillibrand Street.  If Malcolms is closed we advise checking Ebb & Flo, their number is 01257 262 773.
• Malcolm charges a 10% booking fee per ticket + £1.50 to cover credit card transaction (if applicable). Ebb & Flo charge 5% per ticket. Online charges may vary.
• To buy tickets at face value, come to the Box Office on the night of any show, or look for the Social Nights in our listings and come to the Theatre Bar.
• You can usually buy tickets for any show listed on the website or in brochures, including future CADOS Shows
• Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.  WE WILL ONLY REFUND A TICKET IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED OR THE SHOW IS SOLD-OUT AND WE THINK WE CAN RESELL IT.  Tickets for CADOS events may be exchanged, not refunded.  If an event is postponed we will inform all customers and offer refunds up to the original date.
• When we’re “Sold Out” we usually really are sold out!  Might be worth checking the Twitter feed for late returns though.
• Concessions are: OAPS, Under-16s, Students, Jobseekers.  Please note that a show with Concession prices is not necessarily suitable for kids!
• Unless stated, shows are for ages 16+ and CADOS plays are usually suitable for ages 12 and above.  If something is suitable for younger children, look for our “Family Friendly” logo or mention.
• Apart from the Panto, CADOS tickets do not have Concession prices – we think it’s a big enough bargain already!
• Pre-booked tickets via Malcolm will be ready for collection on the night of the show, unless specified with Malcolm.
• We have 3 dedicated Wheelchair spaces.
• All our seats have good views, with the rear section a slightly steeper rake than the front. The front rows at either end may have slightly restricted views for some events (such as plays or films)
• Unless specified, doors open 7pm.  CADOS Shows and Sunday films start at 7.30pm – please check details of other shows.  Stage on Screen events always start at 7pm unless noted, with doors open 6.30pm.  Latecomers will not be admitted.
• The start time on a ticket is the actual start time – we don’t wait for latecomers. Late arrivals will be asked to wait for a suitable point in the performance to be allowed into the auditorium.
• Filming, photographing or recording any show is strictly forbidden and anyone caught doing so will be asked to leave without refund. Please switch your phone off during a performance.
• Please do not bring your own food or drink to the theatre. We have carefully chosen which items we have available, and our licence only allows items bought on the premises to be consumed here.

Please remember we’re all volunteers so be patient if we’re busy on the door or on the bar.

A Season Ticket covers all CADOS Shows in a calendar year. Starting at £48 per person for the five main stage plays, then optional add-ons of Panto tickets (£10 each) and Studio tickets (£5 each). E-mail us for more details.

The Cinema Loyalty Card costs £5 and lasts for twelve months. It gives the holder discounts on event cinema and general film screenings. To purchase one ask at the Theatre Box Office whenever it is opwn.

Groups who book for CADOS productions will save money on each ticket.  Groups of 10 or more get £1 off each ticket plus a free ticket for every 10 bought.  This offer is available Monday to Friday only for CADOS shows and the Youth Theatre musical.

Patrons donate money towards CADOS every year which goes towards the running of the theatre, and in return get all the membership benefits and are listed in CADOS Programmes.  We’re very grateful for their support.

Information about our Youth Theatre (and under-16 performers)

Chorley Youth Theatre is based at the theatre, and is run by children aged between 13 and 18, under guidance from CADOS.  Because it is run by young people with the aim of performing two shows per year, places are limited and intakes usually only happen in January and September.

To be a member of Youth Theatre a child must be 13 years-old AND at Secondary School.

For CADOS shows, it is very rare that under-16s are used in productions however it will say so on on audition notices so if there is a part anyone can audition.

We also hire the space to Evolve to run drama classes for younger children. For full details look at this page here.

We only have a limited number of slots for non-CADOS events, but here’s information about bookings.

We programme events ourselves and are happy to hear from anyone who would like to come to the theatre.  We do not at present hire out the main room for performances to dance schools, other amdrams, church groups, charities or community groups.  We’re sorry for any inconvenience, but as we are run by volunteers we do not have the manpower to cope with putting on shows too often, especially ones which involve a lot of organising.  Also, as Chorley Theatre is owned by CADOS it’s the CADOS plays that come first and with up to 5 productions rehearsing or set-building at any time we are limited to what else we can do.

However, we are ideal for one-man shows and small bands as we have a good sized apron.  We are also available for daytime hire for conferences or low-key shows, with the big-screen available for powerpoint presentations.  The Studio is available for daytime hire for events – please e-mail us for details.

When arranging your meals, don’t forget to let them know you need to be at the theatre before 7.30pm (or 8pm – check your tickets).  Most shows finish around 10pm.

Chorley Theatre is proud to be part of the Tempo Time Credits initiative, run in association with Chorley Council.

Volunteers at Chorley Theatre can earn Time Credits for working on non-CADOS, non-YT and non-Cinema Season events and for extra efforts they may have to put in during the production of a show.  You earn 1 Time Credit for every hour volunteered, and these can be spent all across Lancashire and beyond.  See here for more details.

If you have earned Time Credits they can be spent on select shows – choose the “Time Credit” option from an events page. Time Credits are given out digitally – get a code at the Time Credits website then use that code on our booking site.

Please note: we do not get reimbursed for these tickets.  The council do not pay us for each one we sell.  We are potentially losing money on each ticket we give away with Time Credits so please make sure you use them if you have them.

3 Time Credits per show.  You can book online with the links above or at the theatre box office.  Remember to bring the credits with you on the night.  Allocated on a first come, first served basis but check our twitter in case any more get released.

Time Credits can not be used for Pantomime or Youth Theatre play tickets, or Sunday night cinema season films.

The offers can be withdrawn at any time.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but nearly all of our income is from ticket sales and we aim to make as much money from each show as we possibly can.  We’re all volunteers so any profits go back into the upkeep of the building.

• Each seat is 50cm wide, 47cm deep, with 30cm legroom (better legroom on Rows A and G, and ends of B-F). Seats have small immovable armrests
• Seats with no sides are available down each side of the auditorium (B99, C99, D99, E99, C19, E19)
