CADOS 2021

Chorley Amateur Dramatic & Operatic Society (CADOS) have announced plans for the 2021 Season of productions at Chorley Theatre.

Sadly uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic has meant some shows have had to be moved and some cancelled for now, as we aim to re-open safely and aim towards covering costs. With regulations still as they are, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone The Snow Queen until December 2021. We realise this will disappoint many, but safety of cast, crew and audiences must be a priority and we can’t risk staging in present conditions.

CADOS Artistic Director Mark Jones said “we’ve had a lot of meetings in the latest few weeks to explore various scenarios and feel this is the best solution. Our ability to stage productions will depend on Government guidance but we feel confident to announce a full season for 2021 and reduce some of the uncertainty about the future.”

“There was much debate about this year’s Panto but to make up for it we will have two Panto-style shows in 2021 – oh yes we will!”

“We have gone for popular easy-to-stage shows, which means some previously-announced shows will have to be held back for now, but we hope audiences will come back to join us at Chorley Theatre and these great shows in 2021 and beyond!”

The new line-up is below. All tickets for Blackadder II and The Snow Queen will automatically be transferred to the new dates and the other shows will go onsale later this year. If you have tickets for any cancelled CADOS shows please consider using them towards a future show.

22nd-27th February

2nd-3rd, 6th-8th April
Eggscalibur and the Knights of King Arthur – Easter Panto-style Family Show

7th-12th June

6th-11th September

18th-23rd October
The Hauntings of Ebenezer Scrooge (A Christmas Carol)

10th-12th, 14th-18th December

All current Season Tickets will be honoured for all the shows except Eggscalibur (but people can transfer their Snow Queen tickets to that if they want)

The theatre is currently undergoing work to make it safe to re-open, and hope to announce a film programme soon. Some comedy shows have moved to next year, and we shall be following Government advice about what we can put on.
