We’re very sorry to have to announce the cancellation of Legally Blonde – The Musical, which should have run 8th-13th June 2020. The ongoing Coronavirus situation has caused much uncertainty and our plan is to do as many of our announced shows as possible when we are able, but this would have been the biggest show of the year and as such we can’t see a way of practically staging it in the near future. We think it is best to cancel it now for the safety and assurance of performers and audiences alike.
To stage a musical like this involves dozens of people working closely together for several months and so it’s impossible to do while social distancing measures are in place, and the budget for something like this is something we can’t afford while our reserves are being used to keep the venue going.
We realise this will be disappointing, and we share that view. We’d like to thank the fabulous cast for all they did and the crew who had worked so hard before lockdown. In particular, thanks to the director Emily Cook for all the passion and drive she has shown on the project. There will be future opportunities for all these talents to perform at Chorley Theatre and we very much look forward to those days.
If you booked online, you should get an automatic refund. If you booked at Malcolms Musicland or Ebb & Flo please contact them direct when they re-open. If you booked directly with us, we are offering credit notes against future shows or if you’d like to donate towards the theatre we would really appreciate it.
Like many theatres we are going through a tough time, but with your support we can ride it out and continue to bring high-quality entertainment to Chorley. Hopefully in the next few months there will be a clearer way for us to emerge from lockdown and we can welcome you back with films, comedy, music and a re-arranged schedule of CADOS productions.
