Specifically designed adult (16+) workshops for ‘Disabled People’; ‘Neuro Diverse’ and individuals with ‘Special Educational Needs and Disabilities’. Delivered every week – on a Tuesday at Chorley Theatre at 9.30 or 11 or 12.30. Each workshop will last 1 hour.
This initial 8-week programme will start on Tuesday 11th February January 2025 and will conclude on Tuesday 1st April 2025. The programme is fully funded by the ‘UKSPF Community Capacity Building Fund’ via Chorley Council and Chorley Theatre – and therefore will cost a attendee nothing. Usual cost is £10 per workshop. ‘evolve’ is owned by husband and wife team – Mark and Zoe Jones, who have decades of involvement at Chorley Theatre.
Mark has directed 19 productions over a 20-year period at Chorley Theatre, 10 of those productions were written by him, including his last production ‘Lucan’ which was performed in October 2024. He has been Artistic Director at the theatre for over 10 years and manages and oversees all the artistic content which is performed on the stage. He is also a qualified ‘people specialist’ with over 30 years working to develop the skills and behaviours of people of all ages. Zoe is an all-rounder – dancer, actor and director and has been at Chorley Theatre since the age of 6. She has performed in plays, musicals and pantomimes, and has directed many productions. In July 2024 she directed the kids musical ‘Moana’.
‘evolve’ was set up in 2021, Mark delivers all the adult workshops (16+) and Zoe delivers all the ‘kids’ workshops of which over 100 are enrolled and attend each weekend. Their main aim is to provide a safe environment where people can express themselves, be creative, use their imagination and have fun!
