This Play
Based on a true story – in 1974 a woman was bludgeoned to death in fashionable Belgravia. The victim was Sandra Rivett, a nanny looking after the children of Lord and Lady Lucan. Lady Lucan identified the attacker as her husband, but he escaped and was never seen again… The life of Lord “Lucky” Lucan is one of privilege and entitlement, full of fast-living and scandals, leaving the enduring mystery of what really happened. It is a story of innocent victims caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. This new play to mark the 50th Anniversary of the events, reveals the cover-ups and shows how the ‘establishment’ can close ranks in order to protect their ‘own’.
The play has 22 scenes, with many roles. The aim is to produce an entertaining and powerful piece of dramatic theatre.

My aim is to offer as many people as possible a part in this play, giving the experienced and inexperienced a chance to be part of performing in this production on the Chorley stage. There is no preparation needed for the audition – audition pieces will be issued on the day.
Because this is an original written piece, I am conscious of the fact that you will not have seen the full script. Therefore, if you are offered a role, I will send you the full script to enable you a couple of days to read it before you decide whether to accept the part.
