ACTORS AUDITION (16+)
Sunday 15th September – Doors open 9.30am for Registration. 10am Start.
Please prepare a short song (1.30 mins max) for all acting roles (unless stated). It is essential you bring a backing track on a USB stick, iPhone or similar. Please bear in mind the type of character you are auditioning for and ensure the song reflects this and is panto appropriate i.e. upbeat or show tune.

Please ensure you are available for ALL performance before auditioning. If you cannot make ALL shows, unfortunately you will not be considered.
The Production

The years’ pantomime has been written specifically for CADOS by Paul Carr and includes everything you would want from a panto- fun, frolics, laughter, mild threats of danger and silliness all tied up in a traditional-ish storyline. There’s Jack, a Beanstalk and a Giant – what more could you want!?
The Rehearsals
Four rehearsals per week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday (7pm-9.30pm) and Sunday 10am – 2pm. Some rehearsals will be specifically for singing and dancing. A full schedule will be provided once we have cast.
Roles
You must be aged 16 (and have left school) to audition for adult roles:
Jack (F)
The hero of our story! Must be likeable- audience interaction is vital. Strong character with lots of energy required for this role. Must have strong singing voice and able to move well.
Jill (F)
Typical pantomime princess- kind of! A brave character that needs no rescuing from a bloke! Hiding that she is really a Princess on the run for the bad guys. Must have strong singing voice and able to move well.
Dame Niffy Nellie (M)
Traditional pantomime dame. Must have excellent comedic timing, able to sing and move well. Audience interaction is vital so must be confident in taking the mickey out of strangers!
Grimstone (M)
The wizard /Giant’s henchman (who turns out to be the baddie!). Singing and movement skills required. Plenty audience interaction required to get the boos and hisses going.
Sneak and Snoop (M/F)
Comedy duo / Spies for the Giant. Must have excellent comedic timing, able to sing and move well. Both are a sandwich short of a picnic and have some crazy plots that go wrong. A physically challenging role (lots of falling over etc.).
Silly Willy (M)
Jack’s cousin (Button’s type of character), who isn’t the brightest spark but that the audience need to love. Ability to sing and move required.
Daisy (2 M or 2 F)
Our loveable pantomime cow. Must 2 two people of the same sex (for safeguarding reasons). Ability to dance would be a bonus. (Maybe even tap dance?!) “Talks” to fellow actors in whispers (Sooty style) so must be able to give convincing moo-ves whilst dressed as a cow!
Giant Grumblebum (M)
The Giant who we later find out is really the King under a spell. (Group singing only but needs to be able to hold a tune and move well).
DANCERS AUDITION
Sunday 22nd September – Doors open 9.30am for Registration. 10am Start.
Choreographer – Cara Jones
We are looking for dancers aged 6 and over to form this years’ groups of dancers. Groups will be determined by age and/or ability. Formal dance training would be of benefit but not essential.
No preparation is required; you will be taught a short routine on the day and asked to perform this in small groups.
