Chorley Theatre is run by volunteers from Chorley Amateur Dramatic & Operatic Society (CADOS). We wouldn’t be able to operate without this dedicated team of brilliant people, and we’re always looking for more take part.
Acting
We hold open auditions for each of our productions, so this usually means there’s one every four or five weeks. Check out this page for latest details.
Anyone over 16 is able to audition and whatever ability. Competition can be tough, but it’s always worth turning up because often it’s how the people on the day work together that leads to a great cast. You could be the exact person a show is looking for.
Singing
We are launching the Music Theatre Chorus from 19th January. Run by KTB Music, this will give people of any ability somewhere to come and sing songs from Musical Theatre. There will be a monthly membership fee of £20 but early sessions are free to see if it’s the thing for you.
Children
Chorley Youth Theatre is for anyone aged 13-18 and is centred around 2 productions per year: one in January, and one in July. There are windows to join between these shows (ie August-September, and January-March) so contact them for more details. Chorley Youth Theatre meet every Saturday 2.30pm-4.30pm and when not rehearsing for productions run sessions on all aspects of theatre including acting, production and technology.
For ages 5-14 Evolve run drama sessions on Thursdays 5pm-6pm and Saturday mornings. Please contact them for more information.
Front-of-House
We are always looking for volunteers to help run events: house managers, box office operators, ticket scanners, sweet and ice cream sellers, etc. We’ll provide full training and you may get to see shows for free (subject to availability).
We also need bar people, but this involves extra training.

Set Builders
We only have short amounts of time to turn around one production to the next so need skilled builders who can help put up flats, install doors, add steps, and do whatever else is required. Painting, set-dressing, and prop-making is also needed. If you want to join the team, e-mail us. We’re taking down one set and starting another on Tuesday 17th January at 7.30pm so call in if interested (and be prepared to muck in).
